The Resource Management Act s.31

HSNO, as you are aware, is a nationally consistent set of controls that addresses (better than previous legislation) the elements of the environmental assessment matters identified in RMA s.31. The District Plan Rules quite rightly set limits on what activities require more stringent controls assessment and monitoring. While requirements less than HSNO are not permitted, HSNO s.142 – Relationship to Other Acts; permits the community by way of the Plan to have a say in what happens within the District that may have an actual, or potential, adverse effect on the environment –the term environment used in the widest sense including natural, community and built.

Following are the links to a few of the District Plans in the greater Wanganui, Ruapehu, Rangitikei and Manawatu areas.
